Nor did we concern ourselves with commercial IWAD maps (including Final Doom), because why give up all those slots to maps with an unfair advantage when we could be recognizing more community mappers? We may as well also point out that technically speaking, this list has 105 maps on it, because we ran into a few pairs of maps that we consider to be truly inseparable. It’s worth mentioning that this list only includes singleplayer maps, and generally only maps that were made for Ultimate Doom or Doom 2 (though you may spot a stand-alone TC or two). It’s been a great opportunity to look back at everything that’s been done, think about what’s been significant, beloved, or loathed, give recognition to individual maps from megawads that may or may not have gotten Cacowards, and just generally show our love for the community’s massive output.
